Cursor is an AI-first code editor that combines multiple AI models with deep codebase understanding. It is a fork of VS Code, so the muscle memory carries over.

- Free — 2K completions/mo, limited slow premium requests
- Pro ($20/mo) — $20 credit pool depletes by model. Composer 2.5 (in-house), Claude Sonnet/Opus, GPT-5, Gemini
- Business ($40/user/mo) — Per-user credit pool + SSO + audit
- Premium ($120/user/mo, NEW June 2026) — 5x usage of Standard at 3x cost for power users
Pricing model
Credit-based since June 2025. Heavy agent sessions draw down the pool fast. Standard Teams seat now splits usage into Composer/Auto pool + Third-Party pool (June 2026).
Verdict
Best IDE flow for editor-bound work. Parallel subagents, deep codebase context, tab completions. Heavier than Copilot but stronger for full-file agent work.
